McRitchie-Hollis Museum is operated by Newnan-Coweta Historical Society. The McRitchie-Hollis Museum is located in a restored 1937 home and presents stories of the people, heritage, and culture of Newnan, Coweta, and the surrounding areas.
On August display is the McRitchie-Hollis Museum's latest exhibit — “Touchdown Newnan: Tackling the Legacy of Newnan High School Football.” Inspired by Newnan’s 1,000th football game being played this coming October, this exhibit is an exciting presentation covering the vast history of Newnan High School’s football team and affiliates. Beginning in 1907, Newnan High School Football has had an expansive, complex history spanning over a century. “Touchdown Newnan” honors the legacy of the players, coaches, trainers, cheerleaders, band members, and fans who contributed to both the football team and Coweta County as a community.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
