The Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries consist of two adjoined galleries which together showcase about 20 different international, national and regional exhibitions each year of contemporary fine art. The Galleries also host workshops and lectures related to the exhibitions.

Curated by Margaret Ross Tolbert, and based on her award-winning book by the same title. AQUIFERious juxtaposes Tolbert's dramatic, large-scale springs paintings and eloquent poetry with contributing artists' and scientists' photographs, videos, cartography and writings. Also featured is the underwater photography of Jill Heinerth, Mark Long and Tom Morris, and springs maps by Eric Hutcheson and Georgia Shemitz.


Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis.
