Dedicated on June 29, 1996 with the arrival of the Olympic torch en route to the Atlanta Games, the Jesse Owens Memorial Park & Museum is a tribute to the life of Jesse Owens. The museum depicts Owens’ athletic and humanitarian achievements through interactive exhibits, a rare film and memorabilia. The park located at Owens’ birthplace includes a sharecropper birth-home replica, bronze statue, 1936 Olympic torch replica, interactive broad jump pit, picnic pavilions and playground.
