Harrison County Historical Museum

1 Peter Whetstone Square,Room 111, Marshall, TX 75670 - United States

A place for history and learning. One of the best small county history museums in Texas. Our exhibits let voices from the past tell their own stories as you walk through the fascinating history of Harrison County. Visitors are invited to answer questions about artifacts, listen to archival music, climb into a covered wagon and walk into a Caddo hut.

Our permanent exhibits in the 1901 Harrison County Courthouse include three galleries and a children’s free play center.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
