FASNY Museum of Firefighting

117 Harry Howard Avenue, Hudson, NY 12534 - United States

The FASNY Museum of Firefighting is the home of the premiere collection of American firefighting objects in the world. Fifty thousand square feet of fire engines, equipment and gear depict the heroic history of the American firefighter. Activities for children include creative play on selected fire engines, hands-on interactives and the Cabot/McCadam Fire Safety and Prevention Discovery Room, which offers a full range of fire safety and prevention activities for children. Whether you are a family, a firefighter or a student of history, you will be amazed at the depth and variety of the Museum’s vast collection of firefighting objects.

The Museum has several interactive programs that compliment its exhibits, such as a bucket brigade interactive, a virtual fire truck and the I DIG History interactive. The Museum has discovery trucks that children can sit on and firefighting gear in kid sizes for try on.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
