See where the Pulitzer Prize-winning author lived, entertained, and wrote all her stories.

Exhibits

Located in the Belhaven community of Jackson, The Eudora Welty House & Garden offers guests an opportunity to visit one of the most intact literary homes in the country. All tours begin at the Visitor Center, where guests will find the ticket desk, gift shop, an introductory film, and exhibits that highlight Welty’s photography, early artistic ventures, family, and artifacts. A selection of Welty’s literary awards—including the Pulitzer Prize—are also on display. Outdoors, guests may explore the garden Welty tended.

Space is limited for tours inside Welty's home, so reservations are recommended. On a tour of the house, each room reveals its own stories of the experiences that shaped Welty’s relationship with writing, creativity, and the arts. Explore the famously tattered set of Dickens and treasured gifts from authors she admired—all displayed amid her extraordinary collection of books. To reserve your tour, email [email protected] or call 601-353-7762.
