Discovery Center is a hands on community science center specializing in exhibits and programs for children and families. Located in the heart of Ocala Florida’s arts and culture district, other area attractions within the museum complex include the Reilly Arts Center, Tuscawilla Park and Playground, and a half mile sculpture stroll around Tuscawilla Park. Discovery Center offers two floors of fun with a reptile collection, learning labs, exhibits and pop up classes like Sing-a-long Science. Due to Covid, Discovery Center is open at half capacity. Face coverings are recommended for patrons ages 6 and older.

Exhibits

Ready, Set, Go! Discover all the ways that we mover around our planets and beyond in this fun hands on transportation themed exhibit. Make and fly paper rockets, explore our mini submarine, be a car mechanic in the Garage and much more.

Discovery Center Critter Collection. Meet 26 different species of reptiles, amphibians and arachnids on our first floor!

Learning Lab classrooms are set up with hands on activity stations and grab and go science kits.

StarLab inflatable Planetarium shows are available for private bookings at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Reservations are $30.00 and can include up to 10 people in the same social group or family. Facial coverings are required as this is a closed in space.

Sing-a-long Science is recommended for ages 2-4 and is available Saturdays at 3:30pm for $3.00 per child.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis.
