A destination for antique lovers, this eighteenth century farmhouse was the summer home of collectors Bertram and Nina Fletcher Little, and features their celebrated collection of American folk art. Arranged just as the family lived with it, the house is overflowing with portraits, redware, painted furniture, hooked rugs, and decoys.
Historic house tours are given on the hour from 11am - 3pm. The last tour of the day starts at 3pm. Space on each tour is limited, and admission on Smithsonian Museum Day will be first-come-first-served.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
