The Old Cape Henry Lighthouse is the first lighthouse that was built by the Unite States Government. Built in 1792, the Old Cape Henry Lighthouse stood guard over the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay for almost 90 years before the New Cape Henry lighthouse replaced it in 1881.
