4305 Sulgrave Road, Richmond, VA 23221 - United States
Agecroft Hall & Gardens is an authentic Tudor historic house museum filled with 16th and 17th century furnishings and unique architectural elements. Outside enjoy manicured gardens and a woodland walk on 23 acres overlooking the James River. Open 6 days per week for tours, educational programs, concerts, special events, and home of the annual Richmond Shakespeare Festival.
Agecroft Hall’s distinctive collection contains objects from both the early modern period in Europe and, in one room, the turn of the twentieth century in America. With over 4,000 objects ranging from documents and ceramics to armor and weapons. These rooms now hold a fine collection of authentic English and Continental furnishings dating from the Tudor and early Stuart periods (1485-1660). The objects are representational of what may have been in an English manor house similar to Agecroft Hall.
Due to high demand on Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day, Agecroft Hall will be offering free, abbreviated museum tours every 30 minutes to Museum Day ticket holders.
Gardens and grounds are free on September 21st, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and September 22nd, 12:30 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.
