Combining ethnographic fieldwork with research in museums and archives, Joshua A. Bell examines the shifting local and global network of relationships between persons, artifacts and the environment. These interests have involved him in long-term fieldwork with communities in the Purari Delta of Papua New Guinea and a collaborative project investigating the intimate and global relations materialized in cell phones.
