I really enjoyed this exhibit at the Smithsonian. Ault's night images are so serene that you almost feel as though you are walking home through a sleeping town and have stopped for a moment to just take it all in. Ault probably relished this peaceful world after he finished a piece as it provided respite to his turbulent past. These videos/images really don't do the paintings justice - hopefully his fans will get a chance to visit the museum!

I noted in the review of books in The Week mag/aug 5th the article about Ault/checked onto your site and was captivated by this artist.I was immediately placed solo in the midst of this perfectly ordered space, unafraid and quietly relishing the peaceful atmosphere which washed over me. A great way to start the day! and I've 85 years worth of them, many from his era. I love Hopper also but this is a refreshing kind of nostalgia. Thank You!
