Why is the disc of Venus opaque. I can see features of the sun through many of the transits. Since the disc has no features of its own, it would be easy to simply fake these videos.

Always a fan of "celestial events," I was delighted to get the chance to see this half of the cycle at Purdue in Indiana. I saw the first part in Columbus Georgia from the roof of a hospital where I was working; a workman loaned me his welders helmut to protect my eyes. I feel so blessed to have been able to see both events, as I doubt I'll be around for the next one!

David, because of humans like yourself, who readily admit they wee Venus, it should come as no surprise Venus don't make a common practice of transit.
