I believe I once heard that a nuclear powered aircraft carrier can produce a couple hundred thousand gallons of drinking water out of ocean water. If this is true why not build the nuclear plant closer to the ocean and use it to make fresh water along with electricity. It might not help with employment in the utah town but it would ease the drain on the river and give clean electricity.
