Recently it has been realized that open-fire cooking not only kills millions, it is also a huge contributor to global warming. Once the more people realize this connection, there will be easier access to funding to help solve both problems!
Cleaning up emissions from 3 billion people by providing efficient stoves, could well be the fastest, cheapest way to cool the planet.

The person who wrote your Smoke Alarm in the December issue clearly had never worked with a Rocket Stove and totally missed the concept of a rocket. Like a rocker, the stove provides an afterburner that ignites residual carbon. A locally constructed adobe rocker stove costs nothing and reduces the work of collecting fuel as well as clearing the air.

Wonderful article and very good work. I wanted you to know that a nnon-profit organization called Stove Team International (stoveteam.org) has been working to get stoves to low income natives families in Mexico and Central America. In addition, they help communities build their own factories to produce the stoves. They are worth taking a look at.
The group was organized by Nancy Hughes in Eugene Oregon. Nancy is a member of my Rotary club and uses the Rotary connection to help grow this project.
