I believe Native American Culture found cannibalism an atrocity, the act of demons as such, so if they saw this happening, that would explain the Indians " picking off" the settlers.

This is extremely interesting to hear. I hope I can keep up with up coming discoveries.

Dear People, This is a very interesting peace of history. Everything seems plausible to me. But who reconstructed the head of the cannibalized girl? This is a peace of art, but surely not scientifically provable. You just imagined the face of a beautiful girl, which could be added to nearly every skull. You may call it popular science, but it's just delusive. Why do you think this is necessary? Best, Ruben Hackler

Although tragic and hard for any of us to understand, survival is a strong motivation. I appreciate the sensitive way this discovery has been handled. Rather than exploitive and sensational, you have delivered the information in a way that we can understand in the most human of terms.
