I JUST READ THE ARTICLE IN THE SMITHSONIAN MAGAZINE AND IT WAS SO EXCITING TO READ ABOUT THE GREAT WORK BEING DONE. I APPLAUD YOU AND YOUR TEAMS. CONGRATS.

I truly enjoyed Mr. Stevenson's speech. I wanted him to know that I just finished my BS degree at UVA and my final thesis paper was about how the historical trauma of slavery contributed to the large disproportionate number of Black males in the US prison systems. This paper was inspired because I have a nephew who was tried as an adult when he was 17 years old. He recieved a life sentence without parole. This was his first offense. I would love to talk with you or even email back and forth.

this talk is an invitation to 'stop and listen'.
