The Four Rivers Fountain in the Piazza Novana's center is the most famous by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the 17th-century sculptor who remade Rome in the Baroque style. Bernini enlivens the fountain with sculptures depicting horses plunging through rocks as well as the exotic flora and fauna from newly discovered lands.

The other fountain that is really fantastic to see at night is the Trevi Fountain. There is information about that area at http://www.best-of-rome-italy.com/trevi-fountain-rome.html
This is a fun area to walk around at night with little squares, winding streets and outdoor cafes.
