“When did that start?”

“About ten weeks ago.”

He asked about the rash, and later I would leave the room so he could examine her.

“You still working at the food bank?” he asked.

“I’m doing one day a week.”

“How’s that going?”


“How’s your energy?”

“My energy is low. But my brain is active.”

“You’re just doing spectacularly, leukemia-wise.”
