Phoenix from the Ashes

Iceland is the most impactful place I have ever visited. My father and I visited in the summer of 2012 after the eruption of Mt. Eyjafjallajökull which devastated a swath of land in it's path. I was visiting one of the impacted sites when I saw a local man standing atop a monument made from and dedicated to the destruction caused by the volcano.
