Andean Friends

I was taking the train from Cusco to Puno. Halfway through, the train made a stop in the middle of the Andes for everyone to get some air and browse through a local market. As I stepped off the train, I was met by both chilly mountain air and these two friendly faces. Unable to determine who was cuter, I chatted with them briefly in Spanish, and hopped back on the train. To me, sustainable travel looks like a traveling lifestyle that doesn't alter the culture of the country you are visiting. As a traveler, you must walk lightly, deliberately not feeding in to tourist traps or other excursions that perpetuate a pseudo-culture. This photo represents sustainable travel because it is Peruvian culture in the raw, not some synthetic spectacle for tourists to photograph.
