They call him "Papa"

While serving in the Peace Corps, I often spent time with the neighborhood children. Papa was one of my favorite neighbors, though a bit too young for the name he was given. The son of the resident geography teacher, Papa displayed an incredible amount of imagination when he played by himself. I have never seen anyone transform a nailed piece of wood into so many different symbolic things, before or since. He was truly creative and I marveled at his ability to make nothing into something.
