Young Elephant seal in South Georgia

This young elephant seal became curious at the sound of my camera shutter and shuffled his way over to me as I lay belly-down on the jetty in front of the old whaling station of Grytviken. Soon his nose was just a few inches in front of my lens and it was at that point that he extended his whiskers, transforming the appearance of his face quite dramatically.
