Wasp Versus Spider

While trekking through the Amazon Rainforest of Peru, I spotted a wasp carrying a spider through midair. The two landed on a leaf next to me and I was fortunate to capture their battle to the death. I suspect the wasp is a parasitoid utilizing the spider as a host. The myriad of life in the Amazon Rainforest enforce selective pressures that promotes unique evolutionary pathways for survival such as this wasp's predatory behavior.
