On the Spot light

This small shy deer is called “kaadu kuri” in Kannada ( local language). Surprisingly has a loud voice for a small animal. Its alarm calls can be heard when predator is sensed or suspected, an abrupt, loud, hoarse call, somewhat like barking which is why it is called the barking deer!
