Taken in Everglades Nat'l Park this spring during mating season. This male Anhinga is in his best breeding colors. Their eyes change color to either blue or green along with a nice plume on his head.

A sandstone hoodoo is partially lit, surrounded by the steep topography that is Coal Mine Canyon, a little-known gem straddling the border between Arizona's Navajo and Hopi reservations.
We have a rare breed of night blooming cactus in our yard.  It only blooms once a year, for one night. The bloom gives its own illumination, but we added to the lighting with two hand-held flashlights
