After two failed attempts due to weather, I was finally able to take this photo trip to the Bristle Cone Pine forest near Bishop, CA. Photographed at an altitude of 10,800 ft using a light painting technique, I lit the tree up using a led light during one lone exposure. These trees in the area can be as much as 3000-5000 years old and are known to be some of the oldest trees in the world. I love the way this particular tree (about 30ft. tall) stood up into the clear night sky with the milky way behind it in the background.
