A truck drives toward the lake shore in rural Louisiana

While the Port of New Orleans is protected from flooding by an extensive system of levees, all land outside is left vulnerable to flood waters. Taken in the often-inundated Bonnet Carré Spillway, this photo shows a truck driving toward the lake shore.
