Indian Classical Violinist

Ms. Shyamala Sundaram, 77, a violin and vocal tutor who is from Chennai, India, makes a trip to Columbia, Mo. every Fall to spend time with the Chockalingam family and teach her great-great-grandson, Kavin Anand, 12, Indian classical violin. Apart from one-on-one lessons, she leaves notes for Kavin before heading back to India and also skypes with him whenever time permits.
