Voyageur Traders on the Wabash

The Feast of the Hunters' Moon is a re-creation of the annual fall gathering of the French and Native Americans which took place Fort Ouiatenon, a fur-trading outpost in the mid - 1700s. The Voyageurs were French traders who spent a lot of time on the rivers. Many popular children's songs, like "Alouette", were originally sung by these traders in order to keep pace in paddling as well as to pass the time.
