The Dinner Bell and the Corn Field
When a relative got married on the farm last year, this image spoke to me. It spoke to me of times now past, times forgotten. It reminded me of cast iron dinner bell that once stood in my father's back yard. It whispered of my roots, my forebears who spent long hours in the hot sun so their children would grow and thrive, so that I could eventually grow and thrive as well.
