The Big Temple

Brihadeeshwara temple or the Big temple in Thanjavur was built by King Rajaraja I in the 11th century to celebrate a military victory and was dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is one of the greatest of the many in Indian architecture standing tall with its magnificent dome and is an architectural masterpiece.
