Apocalypse 2

We woke up at around 4 in the morning in order to make it in time to Deadvlei before sunrise. I was down on the clay soil already preparing my shots mentally when the sun peaked above the dunes surrounding Deadvlei. It was a beautiful yet eerie spectacle. It was as if the back-lit dead trees against the sand dunes were giving us a glimpse of a not so distant apocalyptic future. The land was dry and the trees were all dead. These dark thoughts lasted only a few seconds until I fully realized how beautiful it all was. The beauty of nature even in its own death.
