Very Beautiful!

Excellent capture of the interplay of interplanetary plasma storms and our own magnetic field exciting atoms of nitrogen to provide an eerie green glow in the desolate Arctic cold that inspired less scientifically enlightened peoples to imagine this to be the handiwork of some all-powerful being in the sky...

Gorgeous image Ben. If I could get a shot half as good as this Id be very happy! It is on my bucket list too! Congrats on a beautiful image.

Incredible, There's alot more to taking a picture like this than the difficulty of being there at just the right moment. The extreme temperatures to create this phenomenen make it near impossible to get equipment to function with this clarity.

When I first looked at this photo I thought I needed to wipe little specs of white dust off my computer screen before I realized they were stars. The lights, the moon, and the stars are an amazing sight together. I also tried to imagine the conditions in which this photo was taken (the very barren landscape with not so much as a tree or bush in sight), and commend the photographer for the effort it must have taken to get this shot.

Perfect composition and color contrast. Love the juxtaposition of the angular forms of the mountains against the sprinkling of stars in the night sky and the softness of the green cone of light. Amzing photo!
