Thank you for the comments. I appreciate all of them. If any of you wish to see more of my work, then follow the link below. They're pretty varied in content. I have a website but it's not very good... I'm shooting in El Paso now, but I have quite a few shots from my New York period: Street Photography, Portraits, Experimental works. I keep in line with that style, currently.

i love silhouettes. They can be about any person - not just one identifiable person. I love this shot because it shows me what my eye can't see; my eye sees the arc of the ball as it moves; the camera stops that ball in motion, showing me something only the camera can do. (I like blurring that denotes action too.}
The composition, w/ 3 objects to catch your eye, is very pleasing.

Yes, Americana. It is spontaneous, has a blank slate, hope, the batter is unimpeded, the future is glaring in as the sun glares. The batter has a concentrated and determined expression as he balances the motion of his bat against the coming ball. I expect a swing and a hit, but the photo is taken at the moment that it posesses only the probability of the future. The black and white makes the subjects more powerful.

Ball, batter, shadow -- an instant perfectly captured. Admirable eye!
