I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful picture of Grand Canyon. It sure makes me want to go back. I've only been there once, and it was in 1962, the year of my high school graduation. When I see a photo like this, I can close my eyes and remember standing on its edge. What a thrilling place, what a memory your picture brings to many. Thank you for sharing it.

w/ due respect for Mr. Feign's opinion, I think "photo editing" misses the whole point. Just MY opinion...

Georgeous! If I painted a picture like this everyone would think nature is not this way. Only when one has been out west can you appreciate the colors.

Nice composition, but I think it could use some good photo editing with something like PhotoShop.

We were there at the North Rim and Cape Royal in October also, absolutely loved it. This photo is stunning, nice work!

This is a very difficult photo to capture as well as you have done it here. Composition and colors are excellent.

Perfect composition. Worth the wait. Better than being there, which is one reason art endures . . .

What a WOW picture.
The sky turbulance is definetly a complicment to the canyon.
The colors are perfect.
WELL DONE JEFF.

A captivating photograph that simply takes my breath away. As a novice photographer, photos that evoke emotion like yours are what I hope to achieve one day. Thanks for sharing the ethereal beauty of the Grand Canyon with all of us.

In some ways this photo shows why the canyons and mesas of the southwest are so appealing. The photo captures the worth of enduring long hikes, steep upward scrambles, a contrary wind, scarcity of water and being too tired to start a fire - "just eat the corned beef hash cold". However concern with the effort getting there, might cause one to miss a unique magic moment. We can say "the view was like this", but only Jeff Johnson shows us the "instant" was like this and makes it a lasting vision which he shares.

It seems as if the sky has come down to the edge of the rim to say "Goodnight!" to the canyon. Beautiful shot!

Great photo Jeff. What a beautiful land we live in with such diversity. I cant believe all the different colors you captured. Sometimes mother nature paints the best portrait if we will just observe her art. Phenomenal picture.
