I'm trying my best to appreciate this, but since I'm not even a serious amateur at photography, I'd have to know more about the story behind its making to be able to do so. There certainly is a lot to look at here, but my first impression was "Gross!" But maybe it was supposed to be! I think I need to watch the Smithsonian background program about these photographs and their makers, then maybe I'll understand it better and possibly even like it.

This is, with out a doubt, one of the best altered images I have ever seen.

Skill!!!

A masterpiece, and a great way to teach a child about art, makeup artistry and photography. Too cool!

I see similarity to Ivan Albright painting. Distorted realitY, odd grim colors, heavily decorated door.

Doesn't it look very much like a Julio Galan painting?

I REALLY LIKE THIS PHOTO --IT IS REALLY SOMETHING AND TOOK QUITE ALOT OF THOUGHT AND IMAGINATION--GOOD LUCK ---DO HOPE YOU WIN ---ITS MANY THINGS --BUT--MOST OF ALL AWESOME

It's hard to believe that this is not one picture but several combined. Truly an altered image...Excellent job!!!

Everything about this photo is innovative - subject matter, makeup, hair and the photographer's amazing ability. Anyone can do a landscape!
