We met photographer Don Holland this weekend, at Shiloh National Military Park, shooting eagles and eaglets perched atop a magnificent tree. Thanks, Don, for sharing so much information...and inspiration. This photograph is astounding. Bravo! Brilliant work...a labor of love, no doubt. Can't wait to see more of your amazing work. Thanks again for a delightful chat and sharing.

Congrats!!! Wonderful article in the Jackson Sun .....but even more impressive, was the eagle picture....Great Job....actually amazing to catch that special event. To have a picture in the smithsonian is an honor but to be the only repeat finalist in the history of this category is....just WOW!!!! I sure am proud of you and "Brenda"!!!! Y'all still have an open invitation to photograph our dogs and quail at any time!!!! We have the picture of the quail you captured framed!!! Just wanted to say what a great honor this is for you both!!! Hugs! Jane PS....still love the Egret!!! Would love to purchase a copy!!

Extraordinary shot Don! If you're selling prints, I'd love one.

Your gift should be shared - for the sake of saving the beasts of the earth... and the earth.
Practically speaking, you should be working for National Geographic.
I have never seen a photograph with so much movement, contrast, and detail all at once.
Struggling to find the words to express my awe and appreciation -
Astonishing! just - - thank you.

Practically perfect photo! I would love to buy a copy to frame and hang. Until Katrina washed away my home, I watched and photographed these extraordinary birds in the lagoon in my Mississippi gulf coast back yard. All my photos are gone, along with the house and the lagoon. How can I get a copy?

One of those photos that catches the eye long enough to pause, take reference, ooh and ah, and start all over again. Stunning...best of luck.....MORE!

This is an outstanding photo. The composition draws one directly into the picture's atmosphere, and the timing is exquisite. I hope to see more of this man's work in the Smithsonian magazine.
