Wow this is a poor example of HDR. Overbaked, halos, ghosting in the grass. Poor. Not to mention the obious dodge and burn work for your sunlight and undervthe eves. Did you lie about this being an altered image or did the smithsonian people not ask so you just omitted?

this is HDR, it should be disqualified like trey ratcliff's was

Wow. This is really incredible. How did you get that glow on the shaded side of the barn?

Daniel--great picture! We'll be going to see it when we are in DC this summer!

Hi Daniel,
Tried to find a website or email for you but couldn't so thought I would leave comment on here.
I just have to Wow! What a Excellent capture and Beautiful scene!!

Nice HDR subject. Pity about the haloing. Perhaps some further adjustment is required?

Not sure if I would like it more in B/W. Where is that illumination coming from under the eaves in front?

This is Hot Lake Hotel isn't it! This is ten minutes from my hometown! Oh my goodness! I actually have a photo in this contest (coincidence!) as well, but I'm almost more excited to see a picture from LaGrande than to see my own in here. This picture is absolutely beautiful! The colors are amazing, and the perfect crisp clarity...

Oh my goodness! This is my hometown! Wow! I'm really wondering where exactly this is from? It is a beautiful picture. If I didn't have my own photo in this contest I'd totaly vote for you. It's really amazing!

This is a beautiful, sad, yet majestic depiction of one of our countries finest icons. The crisp detail and vivid colors add to the feeling that the barn is alive even as it crumbles. Well done.

The image creates the sense of action or movement by the crespecular rays pushing on and deforming the structure.

Great picture... reminds me of the scene from The Wizard of Oz where the house is being scooped up by the tornado at the start of the story.
