When I was there in the 60's the boats were overflowing with fresh fruits and vegetables that I may or may not have known what they were. It was very festive and a highlight of my travels. I have a hat just like the ones shown in the photo.

The waterways were so amazingly filthy since they were used for everything from brushing teeth, the bathroom, animals swimming, etc. Would we trust the produce to safe to eat?

The orange wrapped monks were out early collecting their daily food. Lots of wonderful memories come from this photo. Thank you!
