He looks pensive . . . and trapped.

I think this beautifully captured photo shows indeed emotions we as humans feel. I did find that this spirit serves as a mirrored reflection of the emotions felt by the observer.
I saw an epiphany about to be shared. One says,"something profound about to be shared." Another experienced the feeling of loneliness and unhappiness even if the primate has a mate and extended family around him.....It's amazing, we humans can run the gamit of emotions through this magnificent face.
Depending on how we feel....

I would just like to clarify that zoo's rarely take any animals from the wild anymore. That was in the old days when we did not know any better. If we have any animals from the wild, they were probably given to us by an irresponsible person who thought they could take care of a wild animal but failed to do so. This particular primate is in a habitat with several other primates. To further comment we do not test these animals. Zoo's do not to medical or any type of of experiments on animals other than simply observing their behavior.

I can only hope that he has a mate and kids with him so I will not have to think he is as truly unhappy and lonely as this exquisite photo leads us to assume. I have never understood why humans seem to think we are so much above animals...we are obviously equal but different as they cannot speak in words as we do. Anyone owned by a cat or dog knows that they think and feed just like we do and can definitely communicate....certainly this photo shows true communication of heart and soul.

This eloquent face is so elegantly lit. A treasure.

This photo helps to convey the terrible wrong committed when we capture, cage and often experiment on these sensitive primates. Beautifully wrought.

the expression of the primate's eyes and the expression overall are so much like a human being's. it's almost like he's about to say something very profound. i love it!
