I like it. Would make an excellent still life painting. The wall the broom is hanging on has great character.
The slats in the stairwell definitely add interest. The break in the old wood floor, lined up with the stairwell entrance, makes for a pleasing look, also defining a 1/3 split, for good composition. The hallway leading back to the stairs gives this picture good depth.
