The Smithsonian magazine ran an item about Evolution in the Amazon River.
The article was quickly hijacked into a religious drawer.
No one seems to have brought up the idea that the obvious power of that river can easily be harnessed to provide power to that needy area.
Cheap power of course can change the wealth of the area- more than just housing.
