Showing visitors the joy, the art, the technology and the multicultural history of kites worldwide is the mission of the World Kite Museum & Hall of Fame, in Long Beach, Washington. This 20 year old, over 9,000 square foot of activities and kites is a fascinating experience.

Exhibits

Exhibits include Bird Kites & Kites of WWII Kites on Stamps and Power of Kites. A grand Asian kite tour includes Japan, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Maylaysia, and Afghanistan. Videos of a Japanese kite festival, fishing with kites, Power kites, and materials to make a kite are available.




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
