The Wo Hing Museum is the only Chinese museum in the state of Hawaii. The building was constructed in the early 1900s as a fraternal and social hall for Chinese plantation workers. Lahaina Restoration Foundation restorated the brightly painted, two story wood structure in 1984. Fascinating artifacts are displayed throughout the museum and in the adjacent cookhouse.
Museums and cultural venues participate in Museum Day voluntarily. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for individual museum content or participation.
