The Westerly Armory Museum specializes in community & local military memorabilia. A tour includes a walk around the Armory’s interior & a look at where the Westerly Band (oldest active civic band in the nation) has its permanent home & library. A Save America’s Treasures Site & National Register building. Chosen by Hampton Hotels as Rhode Island's Save-A-Landmark Site in 2011. See www.westerlyarmory.com.

Exhibits

Three museum rooms as well as the Westerly Band's room and library are available to see. The Armory rents its drill hall for events by the community but on Smithsonian Museum Day, there is a complete tour of the building. Not just military, the museum rooms show the community's past (and some present).

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
