"America Celebrates: Quilts of Joy and Remembrance" is a nationally traveling exhibit featuring modern art quilts that explore cultural, traditional, and personal celebrations. Fifty-seven artists from across the United States show their work in this exhibit that explores the unity and diversity that make up American celebrations. These quilts relate everything from childhood memories to honoring veterans for their service and sacrifice.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
