The Textile Museum brings to life the culture and tradition, art and innovation of one of the world's oldest forms of creative expression. Through changing exhibitions and public programs for all ages, the museum provides new ways of seeing the world through the textile arts.
Recent Acquisitions, on view through January 3, 2010, celebrates The Textile Museum’s rich collection through 19 of the most artistically and culturally compelling objects the museum has acquired within the last five years – ranging from hats to a saddlebag, a carpet, and more.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
