The Pier Aquarium is an aquarium and marine education center located on the downtown St. Peterburg, FL waterfront in The Pier building.
Our intimate, 2,000 sq. ft. facility features 17 aquarium tanks that represent various regions of the world ocean: Atlantic, Pacific and coral reef areas and Coral Catshark Conservation Project, coral and seahorse aquaculture programs. The "Fresh Fish Theater Touch Tank Experience" presented by marine educators every day from 1-4pm gives visitors personal time to meet sea stars, urchins, crabs, snails and our sharks.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
