The independent, non-profit Museum of Flight is one of the largest air and space museums in the world. The Museum’s collection includes more than 150 air- and spacecraft, as well as the Red Barn®—the original manufacturing facility of The Boeing Co.
To recognize the 100th anniversary of U.S. Naval Aviation, the Museum presents an exhibit that includes artifacts, photographs and video presentations emphasizing the long relationship between Naval Aviation and the Pacific Northwest.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
